Fixed dentures or dental crowns

Dental prostheses are used to replace natural teeth and improve dental aesthetics, when teeth are damaged but still recoverable.

Dental crowns are artificial restorations that permanently replace broken, missing or chipped teeth.  They are coatings that go beyond the original tooth. The crown can be made of zirconia ceramic, ceramic metal, full ceramic.

Fixed dental prostheses include crowns and bridges fixed to natural teeth and those fixed to implants integrated into the bone.  They are permanent dental prostheses, so they are cemented and cannot be removed.

Dental prostheses fixed to natural teeth

Colloquially called a "bridge", this prosthesis is cemented to the natural teeth, which serve as an abutment. For dental prostheses on natural teeth, we use metal-ceramic or zirconium-ceramic crowns. On the natural teeth, which must support the artificial tooth, crowns are placed on the inner sides, between which the missing tooth will be inserted.

Dental prostheses fixed on implants

When several teeth are missing, a solution is a fixed prosthesis cemented to an implant, placed on an artificial root to which the replacement tooth is fixed. The best implant is one that is integrated with the bone, made of titanium, a metal that adapts to the bone.

Implants integrated into the mandibular and maxillary bone allow a complete stability of the dental prosthesis.

Prostheses All in 8

All on 8 dentures are made of 8 dental implants for each dental jaw. It is an optimal procedure for patients who have lost at least 80% of their natural teeth. Implants are supported on a fixed (or permanent) dental bridge of 12-14 teeth.

Initially, the implants will be inserted into the jaw, with a temporary prosthesis. A dental bridge or a removable denture is then attached. The operation takes 2 to 4 hours.

Prosthesis All in 6

All on 6 dentures are permanent dentures that use 6 dental implants for each dental jaw. In one session - or in any case within 24 hours - the patient will have temporary teeth, which will then be replaced about 3 months after the operation, with the final prosthesis.

Advantages and benefits of All on 8 and All on 6 prostheses

Unlike removable dentures and fixed bridges, which rest on the gingiva or use adjacent natural teeth as anchors, All on 8 dentures are inserted into the jaw.

Artificial denture roots are stable just like natural roots.

They improve chewing and any other oral activity such as swallowing or speaking.

The intervention does not take long and the recovery time is quick.

Dentures are identical to natural teeth and you can smile again just like before.

MUA(Multi Unite Abutment)

MUA is one of the most competitive and evolutionary methods today. Placing the prosthetic work and achieving a natural smile within 72 hours. The dental implants are placed and after the process of placing them is finished, it is the turn of the MUA and then the measure is taken for individual spoons. The transfers are placed, the measure is taken and the patient leaves the clinic with the provisional teeth for 72 hours.

Dental crown

Dental crowns are prosthetic works that cover the teeth to restore the shape, size, aesthetics and function of the teeth. First, before the final crown is finished, we place a temporary one, with which you can chew without a problem.

There may be several times when you may need dental crowns:

Root canal treatment: if you have a tooth with deep decay that cannot be treated with a simple filling, then that tooth must be devitalized. A crown will then be placed there.

Aesthetics: a dental crown can improve the appearance of a tooth

Fractured teeth: are vulnerable teeth that can eventually break if not protected with a dental crown.

After a dental implant, the implant replaces the natural root of the tooth. A dental crown is placed over the implant to complete the total restoration of the missing tooth.

Dental crown materials

Which material should you choose for dental crowns? Ceramic metal, plain ceramic, semi-precious ceramic or zirconia? The choice is definitely related to your budget and your wishes.
In fact, zirconia dental crowns are the best solution to replace missing teeth, as they have several advantages over metal-ceramic, plain ceramic and semi-precious ceramic crowns.
Metal-ceramic dental crowns: they are formed from an internal metal structure covered with ceramic. They are very aesthetic and resistant.
Dental crowns in simple ceramics: they are made of porcelain or ceramic, suitable for patients with metal allergies.
Dental crowns with zirconia: they are the most resistant crowns and are also 100% biocompatible. Zirconia also has a long durability and is particularly suitable for the back crowns of teeth, where more pressure is produced during chewing.

How to care for dental crowns

Caring for dental crowns should become a habit: the artificial crown protects your tooth or replaces it because you have lost the natural one. Therefore, you should have a rigorous and daily care for your teeth.

- Always wipe them after eating.

- Always use dental floss or pipe cleaners every day.

- Rinse periodically with a mouthwash.

- Avoid chewing very hard foods.

- Have your teeth and dental crowns checked by your dentist at least every 6 months.

What are dental veneers?

If you have discolored, yellowed or chipped teeth, now you can solve the problem and return to a flawless white smile thanks to aesthetic dental veneers.

Dental veneers are very fine porcelain shells used on the front of the upper arch teeth to hide defects in the shape, position, color and size of the teeth. They are similar to false nails due to their delicacy and finesse (they are less than 1 millimeter thick), thanks to this thinness they appear transparent to the light and have a natural appearance.

When to use dental veneers

If you have teeth that have taken on an opaque or yellow color (for example due to smoking), aesthetic veneers restore the white color, in a more effective way than whitening different teeth.

When you need to repair chipped teeth.

To improve the shape of the teeth, if you have very small or very short teeth: aesthetic veneers remodel the shape, harmonizing all the teeth.

If you suffer from bruxism and the tooth enamel has worn down over time, a dental veneer which is a layer will protect your tooth.

To improve the alignment of the teeth: an aesthetic veneer corrects this defect, making your teeth regular.
